Compatible Use of Ad Platform SDK Versions

If the third-party ad platform versions we provide cannot meet your needs, you can use Taku Adapter + replace the third-party SDK for compatible usage.

Friendly Reminder:

  • For compatible usage, it is recommended that you test again whether each ad platform's ads display, close, and generate various event callbacks normally.
  • Compatible usage does not support new features launched by the ad platform (new features that require modifying the Adapter code).
  • Compatible usage does not currently support CocoaPods.

The steps for compatible usage are as follows:

1. Preparation

  • A certain version of the Taku SDK has been correctly integrated. This document uses v6.4.93 as an example.
  • Download the Taku Adapter.

After completing the above preparations, you can proceed with compatible integration following the steps below:

2. Go to the SDK Download Center, select the Taku SDK version, and choose No for CocoaPods integration.

If Taku supports multiple third-party SDK versions, select a newer version that is close to the third-party SDK version you need.

3. Select the ad platform you intend to use for compatible integration. Here we use GDT as an example.

5. Decompress and retrieve the Taku Adapter for the target ad platform. Here we use the GDT Adapter AnyThinkGDTAdapter as an example. Other platforms work similarly.

6. Import the target platform Adapter into the project.

7. Following the ad platform's official documentation, integrate the third-party SDK of your required version. For example, we support GDT 4.15.60 but you need 4.15.50, so you should integrate 4.15.50 following the platform documentation as normal, and vice versa.

8. Because after downgrading the ad platform SDK, it is not ruled out that the ad platform side may have restrictions on your current ad placement, you must perform self-testing to ensure that the upgraded/downgraded ad platform SDK can correctly display, close, and receive callback events.
